Abstract

The increasing intensity of global competition amplified by digital economy disruption has positioned managerial strategy capability as a critical factor differentiating companies that successfully maintain competitiveness from those unable to survive in an increasingly complex and unpredictable competitive landscape. This study aims to analyze the influence of global competition intensity and managerial strategy capability as determinants of firm competitiveness in Indonesia's digital-based industry during 2021-2025. The research employs a quantitative approach with primary data from 312 manager and executive respondents from Indonesian digital companies, analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. Results confirm that global competition intensity has a significant positive effect on firm competitiveness (beta = 0.348; p < 0.001) through the adaptive pressure pathway that drives sustained strategic innovation, while managerial strategy capability has a dominant and highly significant effect (beta = 0.534; p < 0.001). The research model explains 71.3 percent of the variation in Indonesian digital firms' competitiveness. This research provides evidence-based empirical guidance for Indonesian digital company leaders in designing managerial capabilities responsive to intensifying global competitive pressures.
